A NICE PLACE TO VISIT and a pretty great place to live, too
The Rose City is a HOTBED OF CREATIVITY and full of individuals driven by passions, and the same Westward Ho! spirit that brought the first settlers from the eastern seaboard in the early 1800s and continues to drive the region’s growth today. Learn the NATIVE AMERICAN HISTORIES that long pre-date the communities we live in now, and visit the NEIGHBORHOODS THAT DEFINE THE CITY’S IDENTITY. In recent years, the city’s energy has been keenly channeled through our TASTE BUDS: donuts, ice cream, coffee, cutting-edge restaurants, and especially microbreweries have had an outsize influence on local culture. On a walking tour, stroll through the city with our founder, a native Oregonian born and raised here in Portland, with the PERSONAL STORIES that add life to every street corner.

ITINERARY SNAPSHOTS - where we go, what we do
With just half a day, gain a little history, check out beautiful green spaces along the waterfront, and visit the Rose Garden. Then eat like a local grabbing lunch at our famous food carts!
For history buffs, we’ll focus on Lewis and Clark, the Oregon Trail, and the banks of the Willamette River where settlement began. Take time to learn about the 1905 Centennial Exposition, the city’s social history, and hear our most traditional stories – along with some of our most trivial.
How does a city come to have six quadrants? We’ll explain that fuzzy math, and cover a variety of themes as we touch down in all six: North, Northeast, Southeast, South, Southwest, and Northwest.
This is not a food tour per se, but we’ll visit some of the neighborhoods where Portland’s most unique offerings are available. House-roasted coffee, artisan donuts, food cart lunch, and a stop at our most creative ice cream purveyor!
If snacks galore leaves you wanting, segue right on into a local brewpub (or two), and a distillery or urban winery visit as well, for an afternoon of craft libations with Portland creativity on full display!
