Working to ensure the adventure matches the adventurer

Our mission is you, connected to the destination

Our job is to make the connection between the traveler and the destination and we understand that this can happen in countless different ways for different people. Adventure Day Touring is focused on setting the table: putting you in the right places at the right times where those connections can be made, and those priceless Aha! moments can develop. We’ll take time to learn the motivations for your adventure and deliver the activities – in a single day or over the length of your travels – that will give you the opportunity to embrace that connection when it hits.

Our foundational travel experiences drive us to provide the same for our clients

Our team’s travel experience touches 6 continents, a few provinces and territories, and includes a grab-bag of the urban, natural, and cultural pursuits. With a nod to these varied travel experiences, we love to combine multiple pursuits and activities in your plans, and know full well that no one can do it all alone. With that dose of humility, we’ve cultivated relationships with other local tour companies and guides who we are happy to include in your itinerary to ensure the best adventure possible. That broad foundation and ability to connect multiple interests in a single adventure is a cornerstone of what we do at Adventure Day Touring.

Meet The Founder

Jeff Pietka

Born and raised here in Portland, Oregon, I have lived many other places, but never dared to call any of them home. My heart, soul, and now five generations of my family are rooted here in Portland and the Willamette Valley. I have been a travel professional since 2004, including two years wearing the iconic National Park Service hat, a number of Alaskan summers, and over a decade organizing and guiding tours here in the Pacific Northwest. In the outdoors I’m a kayaker, hiker, and bird-watcher, and when not taking care of your travel plans or cheering on our hometown Portland Timbers and Thorns, you may find me working to introduce my daughters to kayaking, hiking, birding, and soccer!
